Nampa requires your lot to be striped
Most owners treat faded lines as something to get to eventually. Nampa city code, title 10 chapter 22, requires that parking spaces in the city be striped, and defines required maintenance to include repair of parking, loading and drive aisle surfaces.
The same chapter sets minimum drive widths: two-way service and access drives at least twenty feet, one-way at least twelve (Nampa City Code 10-22-3).
Accessible spaces do not count toward your minimum. Section 10-22-6 states that ADA spaces are installed in addition to the required parking count. If your lot was laid out assuming they counted, you are short.
Restriping, or building a new layout
The first question is your operating hours. The second is this one, and it is what sets the price.
Restriping means repainting the layout that already exists. That is the baseline.
A new layout means establishing square reference points and building the layout off buildings, sidewalks, curbing or whatever fixed structures the site gives us. It runs about twice as long.
When a lot has been restriped so many times that the old markings have become confusing, we may recommend sealcoating it and laying out fresh rather than adding another layer of paint over the confusion.
What the ADA actually requires
This is where most lots go wrong, and where most contractors will tell you whatever the previous striping said.

The Van Space Rule
One van space for every six, or fraction of six, required accessible spaces. Not one per six total spaces. A hundred space lot needs four accessible spaces and one of them van accessible.
No Painted Symbol Required
The ADA requires a mounted sign and does not require a symbol painted on the pavement at all. We paint it because customers and inspectors expect it, not because a code section says so.
Idaho Code 39-4116
Idaho Code 39-4116 does not allow a city to amend any accessibility provision. Accessible parking requirements are exactly the same in Nampa as they are in Meridian, Boise or Eagle.
How the work runs
A striping crew is two to three people. On larger jobs both striping machines run, which turns a big layout into one visit instead of two.
Measure and mark the positions for all parking stalls across the lot.
Snap chalk lines to ensure every stripe is perfectly straight and aligned.
Paint the accessible space symbols and markings. Compliance work goes in before standard stalls to drive the layout.
Apply oil-based Sherwin-Williams SETFAST traffic paint. Dry to the touch in about 15-20 minutes.
Finish speed bumps, arrows, curbing, numbering, lettering and any other stencil work.
Everything besides the stalls
When the stall is fine but the sidewalk is not
Fully noncompliant stalls are uncommon. The more common problem is that the stall and the access aisle measure fine, and the sidewalk or curb ramp beside them does not comply and needs to be removed and replaced.
When we see it, it goes in the estimate, you get told the existing condition may not comply, and if you want it corrected, we quote that separately. We are not going to stripe around a problem and let you find out from an inspector.
Numbering, Arrows & Stencils
Numbered stalls, directional arrows, speed bump markings, curb painting. Wheel stop installation. Custom lettering and wording at roughly 6, 12, 24 and 36 inch sizes.
Numbering is priced per character, moving with size, count, repetitions, and layout complexity. It's the best way to make assigned parking enforceable in apartment complexes.
A note on curb color
Curb color is not uniform across the valley, and the International Fire Code itself does not specify one. Nampa's parking ordinance refers to yellow painted curbs.
Before we mark a fire lane, we confirm the requirement with the local fire authority rather than painting whatever the last contractor painted.

How much does parking lot striping cost in Nampa?

How long does the lot have to stay closed?

Should we sealcoat before striping?
If the lot needs both, yes, and in that order. The sealcoat has to cure fully first, usually twenty four to forty eight hours depending on temperature, and then the striping goes down on a clean surface.
